After more than thirty years studying psychology, hypnosis, psychotherapy, healing, shamanism, mysticism, altered states of consciousness, psychedelics, mythology, symbolism, philosophy and meditation I thought it was about time I pooled all my skills together. Human-spirit is the culmination of all those years of study and first-hand experience, both on a personal and professional level.
I studied Sociology and Psychology at West Suffolk College in Bury St. Edmunds and soon ended up working for Suffolk Social Services, helping people with mental health problems (schizophrenia, manic depression (as it was called then), personality disorders) and others with learning disabilities in their own homes or in respite, in the community or in their places of work. After twelve years, when the work started involving more time filling in forms than it did with people, I knew I had to move on.
The decision was made easier for me after a profound personal experience of hypnotherapy. After just two sessions a problem I’d had for over a decade (which doctors and specialists could not help) disappeared. This was the catalyst for my training to advanced level in hypnotherapy.
I first trained with the Midlands Institute of Hypnotherapy then at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, gaining diplomas in Advanced Hypnotherapy, Hypnoanalysis and Integrative Psychotherapy. I have since continued my studies with various training schools, most notably the Human Givens Institute, and am also qualified in Energy Psychology (Emotional Freedom Techniques).
I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register, am a member of the Central Register of Stop Smoking Therapists , listed on the Hypnotherapy Directory and carry full public liability insurance.
